Tamás VARGA was born in 1965 in Budapest, Hungary. Between 1986 and 1990 he attended the Hungarian Academy of Arts and Crafts - now called Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, Budapest (MOME) -, and graduated as a graphic designer. His teachers, among others, included József BASKA, Gyula MOLNÁR and László ZSÓTÉR. After graduating, he won a scholarship to the Ecole Superieure d’Art Visuel of Geneva, where he pursued post-graduate studies at Chérif Défraoui’s department and got a degree in mixed media studies. Between 1991 and 1994 he worked as an assistant lecturer at the Drawing Department of the Hungarian Academy of Arts and Crafts. From 1994 until 1998 he held the post of Art Director at Lowe GGK. In 1988 he founded a company on his own, whose main areas of activity include brand-building, introducing new products to the market place, and designing and implementing communication campaigns. In 1990 he was awarded a special prize at the 7th National Biennale of Hungarian Applied Graphics, and in 2001 he participated in an exhibition of graphic art entitled In Black and White at the Gallery of Arts (Műcsarnok/Kunsthalle), Budapest. In 2005 he received an honorary diploma at the Nice Hungarian Book Competition (Szép Magyar Könyv verseny) in Budapest, in the spring of 2015 he took part in an exhibition entitled Here and Now - National Saloon of Fine Arts 2015 at the Gallery of Arts (Műcsarnok/Kunsthalle), Budapest, and in 2016 he exhibited at the Sofia Paper Art Fest in Bulgaria.
